The Cambridge Advanced curriculum is divided into the Advanced Subsidiary curriculum offered in Grade 11 and the Advanced curriculum offered in Grade 12. The Cambridge Advanced curriculum is taken in more than 130 countries offering an in-depth education to learners between the ages of 16 to 19 years of age. The curriculum offers 55 subjects that allow learners to develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject that they study apart from skills in critical thinking and independent learning.
Recognised worldwide by universities, an Advanced Level (A Level) qualification gives learners an opportunity to gain entry into leading universities of the world, including in India where it is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
The AS and A Level in DPS International is offered in Grades 11 and 12 and is a progression from the IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10. Learners choose three or four Advanced Level subjects and an Advanced Subsidiary subject, usually English Language. The learners are able to choose subjects from cross curricular subjects to enable flexibility of choices. The Advanced Subsidiary Level exam is taken at the end of Grade 11 and the Advanced Level is taken at the end of Grade 12.
Learners at DPS International offered the first Advanced Level exam in 2006 and have won accolades for themselves ever since. The learners have done exceedingly well in the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards with 9 World toppers and 41 India toppers ever since the awards were instituted in 2007. Moreover, the Advanced Level has given the learners the edge and the universities that some of them go to are the University of Cambridge, Imperial College, London School of Economics, Massachusetts University of Technology, Cornell University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California, Berkeley and in India, Lady Shri Ram College, Maulana Azad Medical College, Ashoka University to name a few.
